Picture of the Day -- Week 10

March 6th – On our first day in Orlando, the kids goofed around in the pool for a bit, we had breakfast on the patio and then headed to Sea World. It was bittersweet to attend the Shamu show after one of the trainers, Dawn Brancheau, had been tragically killed a couple weeks before. Alex’s favorite ride was The Manta and Josh loved The Journey To Atlantis. Mattea had a great time on the Shamu roller coaster.

March 7th – On our second day in Orlando, we went to Animal Kingdom. We headed straight to the Kilimanjaro Safari ride to get a look at the animals. It was a bumpy ride, but we all enjoyed it. Among our favorites at Animal Kingdom were the Mt. Everest and Dinosaur roller coaster rides, the River Rapids water ride and the Lion King show. When we got back to the house, the kids and Jeff had such fun playing in the pool… even though it was VERY chilly.

March 8th – On our third day in Orlando, we went to Magic Kingdom. Grandma was delighted to take Josh & Mattea on the It’s A Small World ride. Josh got the high score (848,000) on the Buzz Lightyear ride and all of the kids enjoyed the Tomorrowland Speedway. Mattea was very brave when she met Mickey & Minnie.

March 9th – On our fourth day in Orlando, we took a break from the parks and had a leisurely day. The kids swam and played in the pool all morning after breakfast. We headed to International Drive to scope out the souvenir stores. After shopping, Jeff found an amusement park where we played all afternoon. We raced on the go-kart track, did bumper cars and the kids did the bungee trampoline and the Space Blast.

March 10th – On our fifth day in Orlando, we went to Hollywood Studios. We had a great time! The boys and I really enjoyed the Rockin’ Roller Coaster and the Hollywood Tower of Terror. We all had fun at the Lights Motor Action stunt show and the Indiana Jones show. Mattea, Grandma Carol and I had some girl time at the Little Mermaid and Beauty & The Beast shows.

March 11th – On our sixth day in Orlando, it was a drizzly rainy day. We had a lazy morning and then went to Epcot for our final day at Disney. The kids met Stitch and Daisy Duck right when we got into the park. We checked out a couple rides and then made our way to Germany in search of some lunch. Jeff found the Biergarten which had the most amazing buffet, liters of beer and a band playing polka while we dined. Everyone’s favorite ride at Epcot was Soarin’ where we took a virtual hang glider ride through California.

March 12th - We had a smooth flight back to Colorado and were glad to be home and see the mountains again. It’s much more fun to pack FOR a trip than to unpack when you get back from one, but I guess it’s inevitable.
